Diving into the business side of interior design has been enlightening and exciting. From learning better ways to market myself to my target audience, what licensure is needed for the practice, and essential documents needed to start a business, I grew a lot this semester. Specifically, I feel that the business plan and target market analysis were the most helpful. It helped me realize that I do want to focus on the luxury residential space, and what aspects to consider when going into this market. Additionally, from a social media perspective, I have better honed in on the brand image I would like to portray should I ever have a practice of my own. Focusing on livable luxury and the holistic, high-class lifestyle (including food, clothing, beauty, etc) will be critical for acquiring attention from the type of clients that I want to serve.
